“Info” glory for Laurel at the Arab Games

Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) leadership was aware that Media are playing a key role in sending over the image of the Games and thus elected not to gamble with such a sensitive issue, by relying in safe hands for the Media services.

For the whole package Communications, Media and Broadcasting services QOC elected to entrust Laurel and the bet was well paid. During the 14 days of action but mainly in the months that were leading up to the Arab Games the strongest ever Laurel team worked tirelessly night and day to secure and deliver Olympic standard services throughout the two weeks of action in 31 different events.

Apart from planning and executing the standard Media Services in every venue and in every sport of the Arab Games Laurel introduced an innovative, for the Arab Games, Olympic-style Info System which featured Daily News and Results, Historical Results, Short and Extended Bios as well as Background Information of every sport and Country profiles. The first Info System in the history of the Arab Games was warm-welcomed by people of Media of the Arab World as well as the Major Agencies representatives and eventually became the ultimate tool in the hands of every accredited journalist.

Soon after the short closing ceremony ended in Al Sadd Stadium on the 23 December, QOC leadership knew that they managed to offer to the Arab world by far the best Arab Games in the 58 years old history of the competition and they were aware that Laurel was their best ally on the road to success.
